hey guys, I have 6 GB of DDR3 memory.
While I play Battlefield 3, I have about 1.8 GB of standby memory and
about 200~20 MB of free memory. almost 4 GB appear to be used while playing.
but i'm kinda shocked by the amount of free memory i have in game. cause when im just
browsing the web, i have about 1.6 GB of free memory. do you think the lack of free memory
in game is slowing my performance down? would increasing RAM help?

This is something of a common misconception of people regarding the way operating systems like XP, Vista, and Windows 7 manage memory. It can be summed up largely as: Free RAM is wasted RAM.

If the RAM is just sitting there empty, what good is it doing you? Better to fill it with something that might improve system performance in some way, and then dump that if/when needed. So seeing very little free RAM is actually a GOOD thing in any modern OS.
