Push pin backplate?

Sorry i this has been asked a before.

Ive bought a xigmatek hdt s1283 which will be replacing a screw fit cooler for lga775. The only way i can fit the pushpins in securely is to remove the original threaded cpu backplate. Would the cooler be safe without using a backplate?

I know!

It is not safe! The backplate takes all the load of the heavy cooler. An that Xigmatek is huge! Otherwise it may crack open the motherboard!

Can you recommend anything because the pushpins dont fit in the old threaded backplate.

Just go to Xigmatek's website and you would find them having backplates, clips, screws and the works for LGA775. I think yours came with LGA1155 or something.

Just look up your product and see its accessories.

Just to confirm - hell_storm2004 is right. You *need* the backplate to support the weight of the cooler.

Just look up the correct backplate which fits your mobo and cooler and then order.
