Hello,
I have a few windows 7 machines that are showing network drives disconnected but, work when double clicking them. It seems to be causing issues with some applications as the system shows its a disconnected drive. these drives map on login and have been working for over a year with no problems. windows xp machines work fine.

Go to Control Panel and click on Credential Manager. Click add Windows Credential and put in the path and passwords required. This will keep your connections persistent and ensure their connection on logon assuming that what you are connecting to is available.

Make sure that there is no Login Script specified by a Group Policy that has accidentally been assigned at the Computer level instead of the User level. Computer level Policies are applied before the user logs in and, as such, any attempt to map a drive in a Login Script at the computer level will result in a "disconnected network drive" in Explorer due to the fact that no user credentials are supplied at the time of the computer policy being applied.
