What is better HD 6950 CrossFire or hd 6990.
Is a 6950 in crossfire just as good as a hd 6990.
I have seen reviews but nothing comparing the two side buy side.

Out of the box, the 6990 would be faster as it starts with higher clocks. However, the 6950 likely will give you more overclocking, as you have much more cooling per GPU allowing you to push it more. Also, as long as you have a motherboard with an extra slot between the PCIe slots, the 6950's will be quieter.

If you unlock the 6950's shaders (97% chance it can), you'll have the same performance, clock for clock.

2 MSI Twin Frozer II 6950... Look at my sig and you can see they can over clock like crazy they stay cool and are very quiet. Plus 2 will come in just under $600 BEFORE rebates :) thats a $100 savings(plus any rebate offer) for cooler, quieter, less power hungry and most likely more powerful cards :)
