CPU Resource monitor

apologies if this is in the wrong thread section or has already been covered elsewhere.


Could you recommend a good freeware or shareware resouce monitor that can tell me just what is draining my CPU? My new 3.3ghz windows 7 is running slower than expected. Ive run CCleaner, regscrub, Iobit but there has been little improvement. Also ran Belarc advisor but its all greek to me. I would have thought that 3.3ghz would be sufficient to run at an acceptable speed. But even windows 7 has recommended for me to turn of aero becuase the machine is running slow.....sigh...

CPU/Processor: Intel i7-860 2.80GHz CPU Memory amount and type: 4G (2x2G) DDR3 1333MHz RAM Motherboard: Gigabyte P55-UD3 Motherboard Motherboard Chipset: Intel P55 Express Chipset Graphics card: 1G Radeon HD 5770 PCI-E Hard disk drive brand: 1TB Western Digital SATA2 HDD . That's all I know about it.

Did you install the latest GPU drivers?

The PC is about two weeks old and as fasr as I know all the drivers are up to date. BUT downloading latest Nvidia drivers now....

Drivers downloaded. Have to go offline now but will see how the PC performs tomorrow and will get back.
