Ethernet prob..HELP pls

its been a while guys.....i have an asus rampage 2 gene mother board and the its been over a year since i have built it and now the built in ethernet jack will not work it.... wont even light up...i have tried replacing the cable with a new one downloaded and installed the driver from asus several times but still to no avail...heck i have even tried it on another modem still i will not work...is it broken???


when i install the driver it says no "something' controller is detected....

Is the LAN controller enabled in the BIOS? Does it show up in Device Manager?

And if worse comes to worse, simply plug a discrete ethernet card (about $20 last time I checked) into the motherboard.
