Core 2 quad vs core i5 2500k

hey, right now i have a core 2 quad q5550 and an ati 4870. I was thinking of upgrading to a core i5 2500k and an amd 6950 and i don't know if its worth to upgrade to i7 and have to replace my mobo and ram or just upgrade my graphics card. Thanks

well, if you want a core i5 2500k you still need to replace your mobo...not just for the i7. The core 2 quad it more then enaugh for a 6950, OC a bit and you will be fine (you r fine without the oc to )

keep the c2q, oc it with a good after market cooler. get the 6950 assuming you already have a good enough psu to support both the overclock and the 6950.
wait for the new cpus and gpus and upgrade then if you want. the new cpus are rumored to natively support pcie 3.0 which most of current mobos don't support, only a few do.
