GTX 550ti vs HD 6850

I have an HP Pavilion p6710f and im going to buy a graphics card + powersupply to play games with some pretty high settings and frame rates. I've been looking at these two cards (there within my price range) and I can't decide witch one I should get or if I should get a diffrent one.

More about 550ti 6850
  1. My native resolution of my monitor is 1920x1080 but I don't realy mind what the resolution is in games, I play games like Resident evil 5, Call of Duty Black ops, Mafia II, and Crysis if that helps
  2. 6850 is quite a lot faster.
  3. Both card will probably fit into your case . The AMD card is 9.5" (inches) and the Nvidia card is only 8.25" (inches). I'd be concerned about air flow in that case though.
  4. Thanks for the feedback, I will definatly go with the HD 6850 card but im still undecided on the powersuplly or if I should get a new case so imporve air flow. Any ideas? Should I really get a new case to?
  5. if you don't over heat anything then your case is fine.
  6. ^thanks for the reply! I figured I would have much of a problem with this upgrade as long as I monitor the temps and see if there fine with the HP case. What do you guys think would be the best power supply for my case and the HD 6850?
