does FX CPU require a different mobo? they are around the same price. and also if anyone has a decent MICRO GPU that is good for MW3 and CAD and other applications.. please let me know!

You linked the Phenom II X4 955 twice, I'm guessing you meant to link the FX processor.

The new FX processors run on socket AM3+ only, while the Athlon II/Phenom II are AM3 processors but also work in AM3+ motherboards as well as older AM2+ motherboards which is irrelevant for a new build. The FX processors are AMD's latest architecture but each core is slower than the cores in Phenom II, the Phenom II X4 is faster than an FX X4 processor.

Personally I would go with the Phenom II X4 955.

the gtx 460 1gb is fairly short in comparison to other cards. it's a very good card, and you really can't skimp if you plan on playing new cod games. how much do you have to spend on PSU? btw i think newegg has some bargains this weekend for gtx 460's also. the asus gtx 460 1gb is $129 after rebate, and some others.

not looking to spend too much on a PSU, maybe like $60-$80 bucks for like 500-600w, and ill look into that GPU, i wont be playing mw3 alot. mostly just stuff like photoshop/video editing and CAD.

Sure it will do the job , the x6 just handles things a bit quicker , time is money . The x4 is fine though . Just mentioned it cause with my x6 work flies . Maybe test drive a few if you can

I;m running an Antec 650 watt psu on one and a corsair 700 on the other AMD , both have been trouble free . A few good deals around now on PSU . GPU , HAVE A 6870 and a 6770 silent , both work well , 6870 a bit better .
Good luck , I know people here like the x4 CPU and don't see much advantage to the x6 , for gaming maybe , but there is more to life than games and many programs are being written to take advantage of extra cores , even winblows 8 will handle the cores better than win 7 .

That's IF it unlocks the cores , does not always work , they is the "B" grade chip
