Hi all,
I have an Dell Inspiron 8000 with XP Pro on it.
When I turn it on, it runs for a while then the screen
goes blank and all the lights on the keyboard are off.
Then, when I push on the power button, the laptop
does a Windows shutdown. After the shutdown, the
battery light stays on. When I turn it on again, it will
stay going for about 11 to 15 minutes and start the
cycle over again. It is plugged into the wall with the
"brick". All of the setting in power manager is set to
not turning anything off at any time. There doesn't
seem to be any setting in the cmos that would affect
an automatic shutdown. Windows does show that the
battery is 0 percent charged and charging.
Will a new battery solve this problem?
Any other thoughts?
