GTX 580 vs. 590 (watercooled)

I'm upgrading my GPU to one of the EVGA hydro copper editions and I'm torn between getting the 580 and the 590. I've been reading that the 590 board and drivers have been having issues (cards going up in smoke) and am wondering if this is due to faulty boards or due to overclockers trying to push the card too far.

the 590 hydro edition is only about 150 more for me, but I don't want to get it unless I know for certain it won't explode on me.

Unless you play at resolutions higher than 1080p,I'd recommend GTX 580.It handle all games perfectly fine and also you don't have the problems that dual GPU cards have(such as somehow worse driver support)
