In the next few hours I'll be building my first computer. The easiest and most convenient place for me to do it is on a large plastic fold-out table. Is this safe? It seems like something that could hold some static. (I do have an antistatic strap)

Thanks in advance

Solution
As long as you have an anti-static wrist strap and use it properly, it is fine. Even if you don't have one, the chances of any of the componenets being fried is slim. just remember to put the wrist strap on a non painted edge of the case
