Strange Happening !!!!

OK...Set-ups:
1st
M3A78-CM
X4 940
8GB RAM 4x2 GB DDR2 800
OCZ Fatality 550w 80+ cert

2nd
M4A89GTD-PRO
x4 965
8 GB RAM 2x4GB DDR3 1600
Kingwin 550 watt 80+gold cert


The problem is like this I installed a working 4870 in the 1st setup no display, so I pulled it. I then installed a working 6870 in the 1st one viola worked no problems...

I took the 4870 installed it in the second setup viola it worked perfect...

Pulled the 6870 in the 1st put the 4870 back in an viola ....until I got to the windows logon I got half way through typing my password..and then it went black...

I cleaned all the contacts on tme MOBO and card....

I need answers as this is a customers build

HIS ICE-Q 4 4870 1GB 256-bit.....

Yeah it worked great on the 2nd set-up....as well as the 6870....although the 6870 worked on both with no problems

Good answer but just got it going strangely enough...This is how I done it...Since the 4870 worked in the second set-up I installed it...booted up ...ran furmark...no problem....powered down installed the 4870 bck into the 1st set-up and it just went....almost like it needed a kick start or something ...thanks for the replies everyone. Now this thing is full of viruses running a boot time scan already over 60 infections...only 75% complete too..I knew my trusty Fatal1ty was still functioning...yet that was my first suspicion...Thank again everyone for their time
