2. Should be enough, but I would go with a safer option of a 750W PSU instead

an hx650 can absolutely power 2x 6870s. but most of us sleep better knowing that we have too much wattage, i have a tx750 powering mine. the spinpoint is a great deal at $50. id skip the combo.
