Recently bought 16gb gskill 2133(oc) and installed on asus crosshair formula V changed the speed to 2133 under tweak menu in bios... SIW is still showing memory at 800mhz... ne ideas ?

plz forgive me if this has been discussed :sol:

16gb ddr3 2133(oc)... where else would i check other than my bios ? windows finds the 16gb but i do not think im running at full capacity
actually dlin cpuz now

For example, dual channel 1600 DDR3 will read as 800 since it is dual channel. OP, your RAM should read as 1066, since it is also dual channel.

cpuz is saying my dram frequency is fluctuating betwen: 1000 - 1175 mhz
FSB DRAM: 3:16
CAS# Latency : 9.0 clocks
RAS# to CAS# Dealy 11clocks
RAS# Precharge 11clocks
Cycle Time 28clocks
Bank Cycle Time 45clocks

NB freq between 2200 - 2500
 


Dual Channel has nothing to do with it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDR_SDRAM

It's literally as it says: Double Data Rate. In this case, the Bus speed is 800Mhz, so the rated speed is 1600.

OP, as far as why it's not showing 1066Mhz (like it should) I don't know.

cpuz reading : changed nb freq to 2200mhz itrs fluctuating slightly
my dram is now almost solid 800 then every once n awhile +/- 30 :(
siw reading: 800mhz ddr3 1600

all bios readings are saying 2133 wtf bro

nothing like buying ram rated @ 2133 and getting half my moneys worth... wtf
its probbly sumthing im overlooking as usuall... but i feel ive searched thoroughly :pfff:
i also tried dling a few updates for my mobo...
would a bios update make a diff ?

uugghh .. what else can i try ? imma post in the mobo section ive read some stuff that makes me believe this is a reoccurring issue
