I5 2500k slow on games???

Hello guys..

I bought my Rig a week ago. (october 30, 2011 to be exact)

I have the following specs:

I5 2500k
12gb DDR3 1333 RAM
ATI HD6790
1 TB Seagate HDD
700 Watts PSU
Coolmaster Hyper 212
Asus Z68 Mo-bo


Now, im having an issue regarding it's performance.. I play NBA 2k12 and I can see "LAG" during the game... What can I do? It's my 3rd time to visit the shop where I bought it and I think they cannot see the problem whether it is a hardware or a software problem... HELP! NEED IT BADLY! Thanks!!

12 GB is for 1366 boards, you have an 1155 which wants modules installed in pairs. Make sure they in the right spots as per manual. The 6790 isn't excatly hi performance card.

Not likely The 2500K is the best gaming CPU out their. The 6790 how ever is just as fast or maybe a little slower then a 5830, And a 5830 is on par with a 4870. The 6790 is the issue. Nothing else.

I would simply turn down AA Im sure it will play fine.
Sports games are generaly not that demanding even EA games.

your video card is slow. And the ram you are using is probably the wrong kind for that setup. 12gb suggests you are using 3 x memory modules. That cpu has a dual channel memory controller so you should be using either 2 or 4 modules and only ram rated at 1.5v.

Even though i agree his Graphics card is just a mid-range card his ram is not making much of a difference.

I agree the ram isn't a big deal. But EA sports games are not really that demanding Im almost positive its a problem with AA and ATI

Hi.. I tried installing Battlefield 3 yesterday and im quite surprised that it's working the way I wanted it. NO LAGS on ULTRA SETTINGS.... What does this mean? does it mean that NBA 2k12 demands higher graphics?

I tried the same game with the next Video card at the store, the ATI 6950, hoping that it'll work better.... but still same problem...

Try some other games to see if its just this game that has problems. If it is then you could try different drivers.

Turn off AA in CCC nothing related to your motherboard.

Well if you would spend 2 minutes using Google you would see that you are not alone in your NBA2k12 problem. I'll leave it to you to read if there is a 'fix' or not.
