Realtek HD Audio Noise and Speaker Set Up Issues

Hi --

I have a set of speakers that work fine with my old Dell XPS 420 but aren't working with my new Dell XPS 8300. I can barely hear the music or video and all the volumes on the speakers (and on the computer - those that I can find through Control Panel) are turned up. Card - Realtek High Definition Audio.

I'm not sure what to do.
