AMD Athlon X2 7750 Kuma AM2+

hi i have a dell optiplex 740 with mainboard 0ut225. non enhanced bios.

i have the brisbane 1.9ghz athlon 64 x2 3600 right now.. AM2 socket.

i want to get the amd x2 kuma 2.7 ghz. my bios update was june of 2011!! for an older computer thats a new update eh?! anyway i was wondering if the kuma cpu would work in this setup. thankyou

Can you get more specific information on the motherboard model? It may support even newer models than the Kuma series thanks to the BIOS update.

did some more research. the best cpu i can get is the athlon 64 x2 6000+

the kuma has a L3 cache that my board does not support unless the bios has the 8mb nvram chip for the bios. the words "enhanced" should be on the bios screens. it isnt. sooo im stuck with x2 class cpus with 2mb l2 cache
