Well heres my dilemma, my interenet connection is extremely slow. I am a gamer and I usually require a fast connection. I play World of Warcraft and usually have a great ping in game, but downloading speeds and buffering time for videos is extremely slow. I have a D-Link gaming router http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833127060&cm_re=D-Link_gaming_router-_-33-127-060-_-Product and my network provide is AT&T. I'm hooked up via a Ethernet cord and I'm literally 3 feet away from my router. Can anyone give me any suggestions?

In the router setup look for DOS (Denial of Service) attack protection and turn it off.
Also look at MTU settings, default is 1500, try lowering that by steps of 10 (or a 100, initially) and see if there's a change. For guidance you might download TCPOptimizer which offers guidance on MTU settings.
