Hello,

I am seeking the community's take on my first build, a machine I will use for photo editing, some gaming (Civ V, and the like), and music storage and playback.

Any thoughts, suggestions and comments are welcome. Any glaring compatibility problems would be appreciated!

Here's the build:

Cooler Master Storm Scout SGC-2000-KKN1-GP; ATX Mid Tower Case

AMD Phenom II X6 1100 T Black Edition Thuban 3.3GHz, 3.7GHz Turbo Socket AM3 125 W Six-Core Desktop Processor

G.Skill Ripjaws Series 16GB (4 X 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

EVGA SuperClocked 01g-P3-1367-TR GeForce GTX 460 SE (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 X16 HDCP Ready

Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0GB/s

LITE-ON 24X DVD Writer Black SATA Model iHAS424-98 Lightscribe Support

Windows 7 Pro, OEM, 64 bit

I have an existing, identical WD HDD which I will be using as a backup in my new machine.

Thanks.

sorry thought you were asking for advice on a build. um sometimes some mobos are having rouble with all the ram slots full and I dont like the se version of the gtx 460 but it all looks compatable. I would assume that the ram is ddr3 dual channel.

Straight from the website:

G.SKILL
Ripjaws Series
F3-12800CL9Q-16GBRL
240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM
DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
Quad Channel Kit

Thanks for your comments. May come to regret the SE.

Civ V is the biggest game I run on current machine, and am just limping along on 9800GT, Pentium D. Hopefully this build will be a big upgrade. Would kinda like to try Shogun 2.

What do you think? Send back unopened GTX 460 SE and upgrade?
