I hope your knowledgeable community don't mind my asking you about a basic dilemma.
I'm a writer/editor by trade, and am also interested in getting into online graphics applications (such as working with photos and doing layouts of publications, etc.)and being able to store and work with music I will be composing.
I have never owned a computer. I've used supplied PCs at my jobs for the past 30+ years, including most recently Windows 7, and otherwise public computers at the library, etc. But that has to change.
I feel that I may have two needs--(1) laptop (2) desktop--the former for mobility, the latter for perhaps better ergonomics and visibility? I am a little sight impaired. I have a pretty good budget. I don't know where to start to solve this problem. I went to a store but the sales guy just confused me. I am willing to buy both if that's called for.
