Installing new motherboard without re-installing windows

I have decided to get a new motherboard as my current one is lacking features and expansion, I will be going from an AM3 motherboard to another AM3, will i have to re-install windows?

Thanks in advance.

  1. In theory,no you don't need to reinstall. You just need to uninstall your old motherboard drivers(Chipset,VGA,LAN,Onboard audio etc...) and install the new ones.
Most people though would prefer a fresh windows install to ensure no leftovers of the old motherboard drivers. i personally prefer a fresh install !!
