i have an intel dual quad 2.5...would like to put it in a dell,but which one:620 745 755, something in the dell line no amd board

i'm now teaching myself how to work on computers....sometimes hard dealing with upgrades on cpu's and win 7.....but i love it...i love the challenage.........but need some guidence....ty

You have an Intel Dual Quad?
Which one is it, a Dual core or a Quad core.... you can't have them both in the same single Processor.

www.cpuid.com will tell you what socket you have in the current Dell, assuming it's running.
