Hello, I have a Dell Inspiron 530 with a OFM586 Motherboard. The video slot is said to be a PCI Express: 16 x1
I am intending to run SolidWorks 2011 which prefers Quadro FX graphics adaptors. Quadro FX 1700 as a minimum. The board I am considering is a PNY 2000D which has a PCI 16 2.0 interface.

1. It looks like I will need a new power supply (existing is 350 w)
2. Is the PNY 2000D compatable with my interface?
2.

There will be no difference between PCI-e 1.0 and 2.0 at 16x for a single GPU.

Dell branded PSUs are usually relatively high quality; the 530s use Enermax units and should be more than sufficient to power that graphics card.
