What's up guys,

I've got a question regarding CPU upgrades. My brother received an ACER Ax 1430-UR30P Desktop for his birthday. He's new to PC gaming and I've come to the conclusion that his dual core E-450 is preventing him from playing some newer games. So...My question is, can he just upgrade to a quad core on that mobo OR will he have to replace the MOBO as well? Price range should be cheap but dependable and of good quality.

Thanks guys

You're not going to any serious game with that Small Form Factor (SFF) pc. Sell it and use the money to build something much better.

No the cpu cannot be upgraded, most GPU's wont fit and those that wil likely will not game an better than the onboard HD6320, the 220W PSU would need replacing for any more powerful GPU and the SFF size limits your selection and power rating for those. This is why I recommend selling and building new with standard (ie cheaper) sized components
