I saw this laptop yesterday and it seemed to be in great condition. I
wanted to double check with you guys. The offer is $600 cash for it...
No warranty but the laptop looked great.

While HP makes good equipment, this is potentially a 3 year old laptop,
and in the laptop world it is approaching "ancient". Also note that
this is a P4 (no mention of desktop or mobile P4), and the P4 of either
type in a laptop is a burden on the equipment since it runs very hot and
that is not good for enhancing the expected life.
It's "buyer beware" IMO. Given the potential age, I think $600 is a bit
high.

Thanks for the feedback. The girl I talked to yesterday (who didn't
seem very sketchy) told me she bought the laptop new a year ago. She
had the box/manuals/discs, so maybe she has a receipt too. Would you
have a different opinion if she had a receipt to prove purchase one
year ago? Any other opinions out there? Thanks!

One year old? It might be, since it has an internal b/g wireless card.
The $600 might then be a good price.
