34 pin ide to sata

I would like to install a 3.5" floppy drive on my new pc. However, I have problem finding an adapter for my 34 pin ribbon cable to sata socket. Please help !!!!! Thank you.

I have been searching for something that connects usb to floppy (sata/ide to floppy doesn't exist), the only thing I could find close enough to that is a usb external floppy drive.

Hi

You will have very great difficulty finding an adapter for SATA or ATA (Hard Disk) to Floppy disk drive ( I have never heard of one)

If the floppy interface is not available because it is a recent motherboard you will need a PCI floppy disk controller card

(also hard to find)

An alternative is a external USB 3.5" floppy disk drive

if you have a spare motherboard usb header you can get a floppy that connects to

that rather than ide or sata--same principle as an external usb floppy but it connects

directly to the motherboard instead of a usb port and fits in a 3.5 bay--some also have

card readers and usb ports on them

@mcnumpty23 - If you look at the back of those type of drives there is a separate connection for the old style floppy cable. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the USB only connects the card reader and USB port on those.
