Games are just stating to be optimized for 2 cores so it will be a long time before games will start to make use of hyper threading.A 2500k is perfect for gaming and will last you much longer than 1 year.

The 2600k is mainly used for applications that make use of hyper threading which is usually something work related.Even the 980x and 990x perform the same as the 2500k in games.Games today just don't take advantage of more than 4 cores and probably won't for years to come.

Go with the 2500k.

If you dont do anything that would take advantage of the Hyper Threading that the I7 has, most gaming does not use HT, then you'd be beter off with the i5-2500k and keep $100 in your pocket.

Make sure your ram is compatible with that motherboard.

The HAF932 AMD edition is a nice case but as far as I know they dont make the Front panel usb3 plate in the red color, only black of the normal 932. In case this is soomething important to you.
