HP m7470n processor upgrade

I have an HP m7470n desktop that I want to upgrade to CPU. I have looked all over online and have found not much on it. From the HP site it states that it can take up to Athlon 64 x2 4800+ or a Sempron. So that's it? I can onnly use AMD? I can't go higher than 4800 even if it is still Socket 939? Thanks in advance for your help.

  1. This limit is a limit of the motherboard. Changing the CPU almost always requires that you change the motherboard and RAM as well. This means you won't be easily able to upgrade your processor. This is a problem I have myself. Should I want to upgrade the processor, the motherboard and RAM also have to change.
