Which graphichs card? oh the choices

well i am going to build a pc in the fall and i want to know which graphics card i should use and i am trying to keep it cheap like under 100. i am going to play sc2, bfbc2, bf3 (when it comes out), mw3(when it comes out) and a few others. right now i am counting on a gtx 260 because my friend has an old one that i may be able to get from him to sli them. So what graphics card would you reccomend?

Some form of 5750, 6750, GTS450, GTS550, 5770. I listed them in order of increasing speed and price. At this point I wouldn't bother buying a GTX260.

Edit: Unless of course you can find something way cheap. I just picked up two 4850s for $94 shipped. There is no way I could have spent ~$100 and got anything faster. If you can find a GTX260 cheap enough it might be worth considering.

Keep a lookout for sales (I like http://www.techbargains.com/catsearch.cfm/0_2_0 ). Saw a Gtx460 superclocked on there the other day for $99.

how would an ati 4870 do? i just compared it with my friends gtx 460 and saw the 4870 has a faster core clock and is about the same, or is that just me?

The GTX460 is faster. The 4870 is more like a GTX260+. The 4890 would be closer to the GTX460, but even then it would be slower. There is a difference between the GTX460 and the GTX460 SE that biking123 linked. The SE is slower though I'm not sure how much slower.

I believe the 460 SE has fewer shaders. I'd only get a 460 1GB or 460 SSC 1GB.
