My motherboard is a Asrock N68S3 UCC and im using the unlock core function on my AMD athlon x3 440....ok so when i turn the core unlocked on in bios and turn off cool and quite save and quit....when my computer restarts and goes to blue screen and i restart my computer and load up bios and it is showing that i have unlocked the 4th core making it a phenom x4 (the first time i saw this i was like :bounce:) then i restart my computer and it will not boot into windows :fou:

i hate to tell you but that core was disabled because it is defective, sorry if you had your hopes up but this happens.

the cpu has a defective core, thats why it was sold as a athlon x3. you can try adding volts and take a risk of frying the processor but i highly doubt it will "magically" make the defective core function.
