480 vs 6870

Hello everybody, I'm planning to build a computer and I was planning to buy a Asus EAH6870 DC/2DI2S/1GD5 DirectCU ATI Radeon HD 6870 at Canada computers ($189.99 after rebates.)

However I found the Zotac (ZT-40101-10P) GeForce GTX 480 1536MB for clearance at $199 after several rebates.

Which of these cards should I get? Is the 480 more future-proof then the 6870, and does the 480 use a lot of power (i don't want to use too much)?

480 is substantially more powerful (equivalent to maybe a radeon 6970), but it is also power-hungry, hot, and ridiculously loud. I, personally would not use a 480 at any price, but some people can tolerate loud fans.

The only 480 I would get is the MSI Lightning. The Twin Frozr III cooling solution is vastly superior to the reference design though power consumption will continue to be high....
