Hello everybody, I'm planning to build a computer and I was planning to buy a Asus EAH6870 DC/2DI2S/1GD5 DirectCU ATI Radeon HD 6870 at Canada computers ($189.99 after rebates.)

However I found the Zotac (ZT-40101-10P) GeForce GTX 480 1536MB for clearance at $199 after several rebates.

Which of these cards should I get? Is the 480 more future-proof then the 6870, and does the 480 use a lot of power (i don't want to use too much)?

Country: Canada

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: June, 28, 2011

BUDGET RANGE: (e.g.: Can $150-210) After Rebates

USAGE : Gaming (tf2, wow, other games)

POWER SUPPLY: planning to get Antec True power New 650w

MONITOR RESOLUTION:1920x1080

Note: I can't order online. These sites have a store in my city so I buy them in-store instead of online.

480 is substantially more powerful (equivalent to maybe a radeon 6970), but it is also power-hungry, hot, and ridiculously loud. I, personally would not use a 480 at any price, but some people can tolerate loud fans.
