3mb smart cache v. 2mb L3 cache

If you are looking at cache you are looking at the wrong thing to determine relative processor performance. Just like memory on a GPU, cache only matters if the CPU needs it and can use it well. What are the processors in the laptops you are looking at? Try to find some benchmarks comparing them.
