Building a Laptop for mobile gaming and photography editing (not ideal for a laptop setting I know but my job has a lot of mobility)

I have a few options for CPU's within my price range.

Intel® Core™ i7-2670QM Mobile Processor 4x 2.20GHz

Intel® Core™ i7-2720QM Mobile Processor 4x 2.20GHz (about 150 dollars more through newegg)

Intel® Core™ i7-2860QM Mobile Processor 4x 2.50GHz (about 350 dollars more through newegg)

What is going to give me the best bang/buck ration. Will it be a noticeable difference to shell out the big bucks? Or am I paying 350 $ for a a couple more fps.

OK each of these processors is almost identical in features except for the Intel® Core™ I7-2670QM and it does have TXT (Trusted Execution Technology, a business level virus protection) and VT-d (Virtualization with Directed I/O, used to assign hardware to VM’s). These features some of the requirements to activate vPro features on a laptop. So you are building this laptop yourself this most likely isn’t important to you. So you can see how all three of them stand up to each other here http://ark.intel.com/compare/53476,50067,53469 but in the end I believe that you are going to find that the best value of these processors is coming from the Intel Core i7-2670QM as long as you are not counting on building a vPro laptop.

I agree, as of now it is Inter Core i7. But technology is keeping on making new things. I'm sure that in the near future there will another model that is more advance. Read also this link:http://www.techyv.com/questions/how-fast-intel-core-i7-compared-intel-core-i3#comments
