Hi,
I have a amd 1090t BE cpu, it seems like the stock idle voltages are high but when on 100% load then it drops to normal voltage 1.332 volts. Is this normal or is something wrong. btw i did not alter the voltages everything in the BIOS is set to AUTO as default .

Check out my video:

i already have the latest BIOS, btw the mobo is an ASUS M4A87TD EVO. reflashed the latest BIOS still the same problem. I tried to manually set to 1.3v but it still idles up to 1.404 and back to 1.332 on load.

EDIT: ok, i disabled cpu spread spectrum and manually set volts to 1.3v but now it idles at 1.344 and 1.248 at load. This is my first AMD cpu and its not a good start, i've always been with Intel. Maybe its the motherboard ,but then again the chipset is AMD.

Yeah, that would most likely lay on the motherboard side. Not a CPU problem. Those are fine voltages, even though they are wierd, they should be okay.

The asus sabertooth is great, but you could also grab a MSI gd-70 if you are not planning on going bulldozer. The gigabyte 990fx series are good too. I would grab the UD3.

I have the sabertooth and the Gigabyte 890 fx ud5 , both are great , no problems , easy to OC both GREAT boards , but the Sabertooth is AM3+ which is a plus if you want to go BD later . ASUS and Gigabyte , can't go wrong with either , both well built . Sabertooth 5 year warranty , lots of temp sensors and fan headers , lets you know if any parts of the board are heating up , and priced well 190.00

Bulldozer is a huge waste of money. I am an AMD guy, but, bulldozer sucks. Intel is the way to go if you upgrade. The FX-8150 is barely better than the 1090t. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/146?vs=434
