I was thinking about getting 2 of these cards to replace my SLI GTS 450 Sparkle cards....http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...... I have 1 Acer 27 inch 3d monitor in the middle and 2- 27 inch Acer(non 3d)monitors on the left and one on the right. My question is- I have a Silverstone DA1000 power supply. Will that be enough to run my system with the SLI 580's?The rest of my specs are...mobo-Gigabyte X58 USB3<>RAM-12gb Corsair Dominator@1333mHz<>Case-Silverstone Raven RV01(3 fans)(added 3 more)<>Processor- i7 email@example.comHz/w/Zalman CNPS 9900 Cooler<>SoundCard-Asus Essence 7.1<>Hard Drives-WD Caviar Green 2tb,WD Caviar Black 1tb,Ssd- Zalman 128gb Seagate Free Agent Go Flex External 2tb <>Optical Drives-Lite On Blu Ray(3d ready),Asus CD DVD Burner<> Windows7X64<> I think that is the complete list....if that is not enough juice then I will go with the Silverstone 1200w...http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... the 2 MSI cards.
This looks good, but I dont understand ehy you added 3 fans to your case when it already has suppertior cooling.
My case(Silverstone Raven RV01) only came with 3 fans and it's cooling is no where near my Lian Li Pc80- Armorsuit. At the time the graphics cards I currently have are 2 Sparkle GTS 450's in SLI and they are fanless.I have one of the fans directly on top of the cards.
I have no problem with cooling I just want to upgrade to 2 of those new MSI cards and I don't know if my current PSU is sufficient enough.I game some times and my current set-up doesn't get too warm but I am doing a kind of overhaul..I intend to have 3 of those MSI 580's but I need to get a Sandy Bridge board eventually that supports 3 way SLI and has a X1 lane for my sound card but it has to be placed before the X16 lanes(like the Gigabyte Board here.....http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... .I was just hoping the power supply I currently have will hold me until then.
