[Solved] Put an OEM cpu on a retail mother board

Have a Gateway LX 6200-01 with AMD X4 phenom 9500 64 bit processor, would like to update the processor and add an improved video card without removing the TV card. Do I have choices with newer AMD processors such as socket AM3 OR AMS+, WHAT ABOUT THE AMD FX-4100 Zambezi 3.6 Ghz socket AM3+ 95W

I suggest you download CPU-Z and get some more information on the exact make and model of the motherboard, then we can look at compatible CPU's. Be aware though that the AM3+ chips will not work in it.
