Asrock Z77 Extreme 4 Can't Post

Last response: in Motherboards

I bought an Asrock Z77 extreme 4 for a new build and can't get it to POST. I bought two boards before this and tried to get them both to POST, but no luck. I had a Biostar Z77 first and then an Asus Z77, both had this problem.

So, I set it up normally and I get a Dr. Debug error 55 (Bad RAM). I have tried two kits of DDR3 and neither of them work. I tested both kits with memtest and they came up clean. I tested the power supply and that works fine.

The Bios on the Asrock board is 2.10

My setup is as follows:

Asrock Z77 Extreme 4
GSkill F3-12800cl9q-16gbxl
i5 3570k
Corsair HAF 750W Modular.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. I have worked on this problem for about two weeks and just have no idea what could be doing this. The only thing I can think of is bent pins on the CPU (which I cannot see) or a BIOS that needs to be updated. But the BIOS should support Ivy Bridge at 2.10, according to the manual.

Thanks guys,

Asrock sent me a new BIOS chip and I installed that, and cleared the CMOS.

No difference. I am running out of ideas.

I did try all the slots, and I even bought an additional memory kit that was on the QVHL because the one I initially bought wasn't.

I did resolve this issue by eventually replacing the CPU. It didn't have any bent pins, so I'm not sure why that would be the case.
