Hey all, it's my first time ever doing a build. I've done a little research and this is what I've come up with. I've been wanting to build a sweet gaming machine since I was in middle school, I just graduated college, got a job, and can finally afford to do so. I've been out of computer gaming for a while but i want to be able to run crysis I/II, cod mw3, bf 3, skyrim, starcraft, total war etc on awesome/possibly maxed out settings.
I'll also be doing a ton of multitasking/video streaming as well. I'll also be doing a little photoshop, maybe some music editing and some light video editing, but we can focus on the gaming.
Approximate Purchase Date: next week
Budget Range: 1000-1200
System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming, multitasking internet, streaming video, very light photoshop, very light video editing
Parts Not Required: already bought
750w Corsair PSU
1.5tb WD Black Caviar HDD
matching 25' monitors
when they were on sale
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg - hoping to use bill me later option to spread out payments
Country of Origin: US
Parts Preferences: none
Overclocking: Yes
SLI or Crossfire: Maybe down the road
Monitor Resolution: dual monitor 1920x1080
Here's what I got so far:
Intel Core i5 2500k
ASRock p67 extreme4
Corsair H60
Gigabyte HD 6950
Kingston HyperX 2 x 4GB DDR3 1600
Crucial M4 64gb
Cooler Master HAF 932 Full
total = $1000
I think where I'm really unsure is the gpu, I'm not sure if it will be good enough or overkill. I also considered the 6850, 6870 and gtx 560ti.
I also want a sweet keyboard and mouse (not really geared toward gaming) if anyone has suggestions.
