I have an intel Q6600 that I put into a computer on an IP35 motherboard. About a year ago, I started to not like the temperatures I was seeing in 45-60 C range. So, I got rid of the stock Intel fan and heatsink, and I installed one of these massive heat sinks with copper pipes and aluminum fins (the XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler I5 775). I used arctic silver and meticulously put the right thickness for the contact between sink and cpu.

My temperatures are unbelievable.

26 C - CPU
29 C - System
40 C - Power supply

Even under load, these temperatures fluctuate, but not more than 7 degrees. Are these temperatures correct or is my computer lying to me? Or do I have a bad thermal sensor and the temperature is not being measured accurately?

Thanks!
