Hello,

I'm technically building a brand new rig, I am replacing my motherboard, processor, ram, video card, and hard drive. I'll be using my previous case, 1000w power supply, sound card, & cd drive. I have already purchased a Hard Drive & GTX 570 HD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130613

I'm a hardcore gamer with 1000$ budget. "Total cost might not even break 600$, Just making sure I get a very solid combo."

Motherboard
Processor
Ram

Recommended combo's that have been reviewed to work well together would be much appreciated.
Will most likely save the left over $$$, and buy a 2nd 570 once it drops in price again.
Also if there might be better advice come Nov, I could hold out till then. I'm trying to get an Idea on whats hot now.

I want this build to last, My previous build lasted 5 years. And still was kicking max settings on most current games on market, with only 2 upgrades over that timespan.

So you have $1000 left to spend on those three parts? Um.... these parts...

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500k
Mobo: Gigabyte Z68XP-UD4
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.717775
$409.98, $7.87 shipping

CPU Cooler: CoolerMaster Hyper 212+
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065
$29.99, free shipping

RAM: 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws X 1600 C9 1.5v
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428
$59.99, free shipping

...only come to $507.83 shipped.

What to do with the rest? Either add another GTX 570 for $320 or go with a 128GB Crucial M4 SSD for $240. Then you may want a new case or PSU or whatever. Gaming keyboard, mouse, headset. Or call it good with the CPU, cooler, motherboard, and ram.

Yes nd_hunter, I have 1000$ budget. I know I only need about half for those 3 parts. I'm mainly getting those core parts before I decide to do with my left over money. And yes I was thinking about a 2nd 570. But I want to make sure I get a solid combo of those 3 parts.

Thank you very much, those deals look very nice.

Keep the deals coming pls.

the i5-2500k and the 8gb 1600mhz ram are an easy pick.

The d3h is a great board that has a truly surprising number of features for its price. Its biggest weakness is overclocking, but it can still do so decently.

The p67 extreme4 is a full featured board (it even includes a usb 3.0 front panel) at a great price with excellent overclocking. id say its biggest weakness is the lack of z68 features, but these are useless for most gamers.

the z68xp-ud4 is a good board, but i just cant see justification for its $210 price point, especially when compared to cheaper boards like the z68xp-ud3p, p8z68-v, and the asrock z68 extreme4 gen3 (which has pci-e 3.0 slots)

the combo savings would make it reasonable, except that the i5-2500k has a promo code at the moment, which unfortunately doesnt work with combos.

i would like to hear why you think the ud4 is superior to the z68 extreme4 gen3 or p8z68-v. im not saying your wrong, i just think the OP should know what hes paying for. as far as im concerned the z68 extreme4 has everything you could possible want (except maybe x16/x16 pci-e lanes, which none of these boards have)

Yeah, that promo code does kind of negate the combo savings which takes price out of the equation. So nevermind my previous post. I didn't notice your mention of the ASRock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3...that would be the one to get. Better overclocking than the UD3P, USB 3.0 bundle, Z68, PCI-E 3.0 slots (a bit of future-proofing I guess). On a side note, are the next gen AMD and nVidia cards PCI-E 3.0?

Btw, you can say I'm wrong. Respectful debate is healthy on here. And it turns out I was wrong.

from what i hear, the next gen cards WILL use pci-e 3.0, but that it wont really matter. much like HDD's with Sata 6gb/s, the bandwidth isnt currently the limiting factor, and those cards will work in pci-e 2.0 slots. so its not really an important feature, but its a cool-looking and extremely well featured board for the price, even though i still think its way more than the average gamer will ever need/use.

That's what I was thinking....

On budget builds, I generally recommend the MSI P67A-G45. It does everything a gamer will need for a great price.

On a side note, that ASRock board is going to find its way into my rig before too long :)
