Will I need to reinstall windows on new board -image copy

Ok don't be to hasty and I know the answer is yes and can depend buuuuuuuuttt what if I backed up windows 7 creating an image of it and restored using the windows 7 recovery cd?
Using a Asus m4a79xtd evo am3
Moving up to Asrock Extreme4 Z77 1155

Wont work right, especially AMD to Intel.
All the chipset and other drivers will cause problems. BSOD's....
But Is your copy OEM or Retail?

It will fail to stay activated, if it is OEM.
