First time gaming rig help

Approximate Purchase Date: next week (between Monday and Wednesday)

Budget Range: 1600 before rebates

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming (BF3, Crysis and other games running maxed) browsing, downloading, music movies and other minor stuff)

Parts Not Required: keyboard, mouse monitor

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: none, cheapest shipping possible

Country of Origin: Canada

Parts Preferences: by brand or type: None, best and most reliable for gaming

Overclocking: Absolutely

SLI or Crossfire: Yes having room to go 3 sli or crossfire x 3 would be nice for future upgrades

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: I have a really hot room during the summer, good cooling is really important since I tend to game a lot. I'd like to be able to max all games out there and get a good FPS. I plan on using my TV as main monitor and use a second screen only for my msn, skype, dowload, browsing and other minor stuff. I'd like it if I didn't need to upgrade my computer too soon since it's a lot of money.

Thanks in advance!

  1. I was thinking about getting 2 570s and probably adding a 3rd one a few years later if I needed it rather than buying another super expensive new GPU.

Any build suggestions will do, I'm new at this.
  2. These two sites (Best Direct and Direct Canada) are affiliated and both use the same shipping addy out of Richmond, BC and both offer free shipping.

These boards down below allow for tri vid cards (NF200). <----- This board should be on the shelves sometime next week and it supports tri vid cards also. $167.20
Coolermaster Haf X EATX Tower Case Black 6X5.25 5X3.5INT No PS Front USB3.0 $208.79
    Intel Core i5 2500K Quad Core Unlocked Processor LGA1155 3.3GHZ Sandy Bridge 6MB $24.20
    Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus Direct Touch 4 Heatpipe Heatsink AM2 AM3 LGA1366 LGA1155 LGA1156 120MM $57.43
    G.SKILL F3-12800CL9D-8GBSR Sniper SE 8GB 2X4GB DDR3-1600 CL9-9-9-24 1.5V Memory Kit $53.74
    Seagate Barracuda ST31000524AS 7200.12 1TB SATA 32MB Cache 3.5IN Internal Hard Drive OEM $16.79
ASUS DRW-24B1ST 24X SATA DVD Writer OEM Black $93.79
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 64BIT DVD OEM

Right now, this is what I came up with but the 570 are kind of expensive, and I can't find much data on them and what I found doesn't seem to be worth spending an extra 100$ on. Even though I could grab a 3rd one later on.

It seems to me like the right thing to do right now would be to get 2 560 ti SOC

Or maybe I should go with 6950s? I really can't decide On witch GPU to take.

I'd also like to get a small SSD drive (60gb) and I need a PSU.

    Any suggestions?

I would do something like this down below. It's easy enough to o/c you vid cards yourself and save some $$. Dual 560's in SLI will tear it up on a single 1920 x 1080 monitor and 750w psu like that XFX down below give you plenty of head room. Those fans I posted down below are for that 922. The 200mm goes on the side of that case, and the smaller fan on the bottom...two vid cards make for a lot of heat, and you want that fan blowing on them along with creating more airflow. $171.60

The only thing showing up for me is a battery pack in the best direct cart.
  7. That's going to be a o/c monster. :)
