I am seriously considering buying the i5 however i want to know whether the p55 chipset will be like the x58 in regards to SLI and crossfire and will the i5 feature hyperthreading as well, also is there any amd chipset capable of supporting both crossfire and SLI?

I have a feeling the P55 chipset will NOT support SLI, just crossfire. There is an X series chipset coming out for the i5, I think it's the X57 or something like that. Maybe that will support both for the i5. I am not sure. I know for each motherboard that supports SLI, it has to include the NFG200 chip and be licensed to support SLI from Nvidia. I wouldn't hold your breath on the P55 though. The X57 could be total speculation though.

P55, maybe P53, G53m etc.... why not a G57? I think we can expect a range of budget options and skipping the SLI license fee would make a lot of sense.
I thought maybe the P55 would skip the dual CF&SLI option to drive more traffic to the X-58 boards.

the top end 5 series board for i5 is the P57, they're using the X_8 series chipset for core i7 and the P__ series chipset for i5 with P57 being the Top-end with the most PCIe lanes and P55 being the mainstream dual gpu supporting chipset.

Hmm, I thought I had read nVidia gave up on requiring the nF200 SB for SLi on 5x chipsets, and was in negotiations to add it to 4x series chipsets as well...
