Hey all,

I'm looking to build the following combo from Newegg and am just trying to check to make sure the compatibility all looks good. It looks good from my end, but it's been a while since I've done a build. So any thoughts or suggestions would be great!

-AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition Thuban 3.3GHz, 3.7GHz Turbo Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor HDE00ZFBGRBOX

Its great you are getting the 990FX motherboard because that guarantees compatibility with next generation Bulldozer processors due to be released in the next month or so

If its for gaming then the X6 processor is overkill . Buy a 955 X4 instead because games cant use the 6 cores .

The psu is overkill for a single 6870 . You could save by getting a 650 watt
