P 6860FX (Gateway) cpu upgrade

so this laptop has the T5550 @ 1.83 Ghz Core 2 Duo processor. Will it support the T9300 2.5 dual core? How do I know for sure?

Yes it will but it will probably void your warrenty. This person on overclockers.com has the same laptop as you. In this thread he shows pictures on what he upgraded and how he did it.
