Seriously looking forward to Skyrim later today, and The Old Republic next month...

I'm concerned that my PII x4 955BE might be limiting some of my performance in these games, even with it overclocked to 3.6GHz.

I am currently running a 6950 unlocked, and so far I'm mostly happy with the performance of gaming at 1920x1200, although I do get some not insignificant dips in framerates in some situations.

What sort of improvements might I see while moving to a 2500K overclocked to say 4.5 or 4.8GHz, with the same graphics setup. Anyone here make the same upgrade?

I've also always got the option of grabbing a second 6950 somewhere down the line and hoping that also unlocks. I feel that if I did this before a processor upgrade I'd be limiting the gain versus the cost of the second card. Am I correct in this assumption?

Thanks for any insight.

Cant say anything till the games are out. We have to wait for some benchmarks. Hold on till then and be patient! :)
