When playing some games (Splinter Cell, Max Payne, Unreal Tourney, Solider of Fortune 2etc.) the video cut scenes are not displaying in 1600x1200 resolution, but actual game play does. I have the latest drivers for my 21" monitor (IIYAMA Visionmaster 502) and the for my video card (ATI Radeon 9700 pro) and it is set at 85Hz 1600x1200 desktop resolution. I am running Windows XP professional. Any ideas?

Sounds like it might be a driver or codec issue.

Got the latest versions?

Like I posted earlier, I do have the latest drivers of my monitor and video. As for codecs I have installed divx, xvid and ogg.

Have you tried backstepping one version in your drivers?

"The latest driver" isn't always the best.

it might be because the cut scene's arn't done in that resolution, usually their done at 600x800 or even lower so low end machines can still show them without having multiple copies of the same video on 1 cd. It's not something really to worry about, it's not the monitor or the video card. It's just the game and saving space.

"What kind of idiot are you?"
"I don't know, what kinds are there?"
