Does anyone know if the stronger wireless routers , as used at home , pose any radiation type problems , similar to mobile phones . On the one hand they are not connected to the body , so better than mobile phones in this respect , But on the other hand they are emitting a signal , more similar to a mobile phone company's antennas ?
Global jury is still out on this one. However, it seems that low intensity RF (as in WiFi) poses low risk and perhaps more importanly, non-perminent and reversable biological effects. It won't disturbe DNA like ionizing radiation (X-ray)which can lead to cancer and tumors. Here are some links to review from both sides of the argument.
Some scientists say low to no risk:

Opposing View - some point to scientific studies:

Thanks for the replies . One important thing from those links , I didn't know is that the router only transmits when it's actually sending/receiving data , if I understood properly . Another thing , as kweb said , the levels for the router are much less than mobile phones . In that case , I'd assume thata home router shouldn't be too bad after all .
You can read opinion and dissent until your blue in the face. 30 mW radios pose no risk. Nor do 100 mW radios, which you rarely if ever will come across unless you mod your AP or buy high end. It's a non issue.
doctors dont have a clue what really causes cancer, they are just placing blame on anything they can find. cell phone cause cancer, too much meat causes cancer, unpurified water causes cancer, nike shoes cause cancer. its all bullsh1t.
