Windows 7 Laptop, Connects to router, BUT NO internet

have vaio laptop, had been connecting without problem to linksys cisco wireless router and receiving internet access. There have been 2 changes to system: 1) kids set up XBOX live (i think this uses the router and modem for internet access) and 2) while we were out of town over holidays I used a Virgin Mobile 3G "hotspot' to connect wherever i was. Now i am home and my laptop is connecting to router but i have no internet access

This is worth a go as it is simple and quick:

Check TCP/IP Properties.

Start, Connect To, Connection, Properties, Scroll Down TCP/IP and highlight, click Properties and check that Obtain DNS and IP address automatically are enabled.
